We are pleased to announce a joint programme with South Hampstead Synagogue.A new interactive series on ‘History for the Curious’, exploring captivating personalities who changed the course of Jewish life.Three stand-alone sixty minute sessions with illustrations and maps, presented by the renowned Rabbi Aubrey Hersh.Thursdays at 8pm on the following dates:·
18th June Maimonides (1135-1204): Statesman, Scholar & Radical Philosopher who radically changed Judaism forever·
25th June Dona Gracia (1510-1569): The Unsung Jewish Heroine. Discover the woman who dined with kings, ran a shipping empire and saved the lives of hundreds·
2nd July The First American Jewish Spy & the First American Rabbi (1776). At the height of the American War of Independence two Jews stood out for their contribution to America
Rabbi Aubrey Hersh has been involved in education since 1996, specialising in History, Philosophy & Halacha. He has lectured extensively both in the UK and abroad and over the last 15 years has run more than 150 heritage tours in Europe. He is currently the Director of Education at the JLE.
